With the joint effort of partners from Maastricht, Marseille and Dortmund the Center for Thrombosis and Hemostasis (CTH) in Mainz has initiated an EU-funded European Joint Doctorates (EJD) program Thrombo-inflammation in cardiovascular disease (TICARDIO). In this strategic alliance, based on complementary expertise and previous fruitful and strong cooperation, PhD students are being trained to unravel multifaceted mechanisms of thrombo-inflammation in the excellent laboratories of the CTH, the  School for Cardiovascular Diseases (CARIM), the Center  for Cardiovascular and Nutrition Research (C2VN) and the Leibniz-Institut für Analytische Wissenschaften (ISAS), as well as exposed to career options in the laboratories of commercial partners (Bayer, BioCytex, Boehringer Ingelheim, TRON, 2M Engineering).
